The Lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdul-Sobur Olayiwola Olawale popularly known as Omititi is dead. He was said to have slumped and died at the presidential campaign flag-off of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) held today at the Rawang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, Plateau State.

Doyin Ojora, wife of Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is dead. Doyin reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, 13 November, 2022 in Lagos.   Details of her death were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

We Are Under Attack, 65,699 PVCs destroyed in Ogun, Osun Offices, INEC Raises Alarm

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said 65,699 uncollected Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) were destroyed by hoodlums who attacked two of its offices in Ogun and Osun states. According to Chairman, INEC Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, 904 ballot boxes, 29 voting cubicles, 30 megaphones, 57 election bags, and eight electric power generators were also destroyed by the unscrupulous elements. The attacks occurred separately at the commission’s offices in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State and the Ede South Local Government Area Of Osun State. Okoye, in a statement, said both incidents occurred in the early hours of Thursday, noting that while the entire building of its Abeokuta office was set ablaze, a portion of its Ede office was burnt. As modern democracy is defined as government of the people by the people for the people, choosing leaders by election or selection is imperative. In choosing those leaders, there is need for decorum and identification of ideas and philosophies so that there will be a team working for same purpose unlike what an all-comer system would offer. It is the aggregation of ideas and philosophies that gave birth to party politics. In the United Kingdom, after the civil war, political agitation centered on the role and status of the hereditary monarchy dividing the political class into *whigs* and *torries* (rather derogatory terms) according to the degree of influence and role they wanted for the monarch which itself had religious undertone as between the catholics and the anglicans.
