NDE 774,000 JOBS: IDYI Secures Five (5) Job Slots, Courtesy Of Hon. JB, Hon. SOB

The Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) has successfully secured five (5) job slots under the FG's public works scheme for Ikorodu local government.

The five (5) job allocations were given to the organization by Ikorodu Federal, State representatives and the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.

Two (2) allocations from Hon Babajimi Benson, Member House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

Two (2) allocations from Hon SOB AGUNBIADE, State Constituency I (Majority Leader LSHA) while the remaining one (1) allocation came from the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina.

These forms shared among the Constituency 1 and 2 respectively.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier announced the creation of the programme to mitigate unemployment hazard in rural areas through a short-term engagement of 1,000 unemployed persons per local government area for a period of three months.

The initiative which is to kick start on October 1 will pay the 774,000 beneficiaries an allowance of N20,000 monthly to carry out public work.

They will be recruited largely from the pool of unskilled persons ordinarily resident in rural areas.

The Executive Director of Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative, Samson Bisiriyu on behalf of the initiative  has commended the Political leaders for the opportunity given to the members of the group, expressing that the group is entirely grateful for this kind gesture.
He also seized the medium to agitate for more job opportunities for  Youths across Ikorodu division stating that it is a natural way of eradicating unemployment, cult activities and social vices among our Youths.
