4 Benefits From IDYI Empowerment Scheme Phase II

On the 16th day of April, 2021, Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) Led by Comrade Samson Bisiriyu Executive Director, successfully conducted the donation of business equipment to an additional four youth, namely Mrs. Abass Abisola (Igbogbo), Miss Jinadu Nimotalahi (Odogunyan), Miss Fatai Wasilat (Lucky Fibre), and Mrs. Fatimo Ewetoye (Oreyowa, Igbogbo) in their respective skill areas of Make-up, Hairstyling, and Fashion design (the latter two individuals).
The afternoon outdoor event took place within the premise of the beautiful Constituency office of Honourable Babajimi Benson of the Federal House of Representatives at Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu Division.

Through the IDYI's facilitation, Honourable Babajimi Benson MHR and Honourable Saka Solaja Ikorodu Constituency 2 donated the equipment for the above named beneficiaries. Each budding entrepreneur received equipment to enable her to start-up her business. Thus, the fashion designers each received a Buddy Fly sewing machine, the make-up artist received a make-up set comprising set of brushes, beauty blender, foundation et al, while the hairdresser received a styler, electric hair ointment cap, packs of hair combs, hair dryer et al. 
The beneficiaries were evidently happy to receive the donations. Three of them expressed their desire for growth in their businesses in the next two years. They also expressed their desire for positive growth of Ikorodu Division. 

Mr. Adeyemi Kunnu, the General Manager of 106.1 Ikorodu FM handled the presentations alongside Mrs. Funke Awoyemi a stakeholder in the Division as well as Founder of a nonprofit called Total Support Initiative. In his short speech during the event, he urged the beneficiaries to display their entrepreneurial skills by wearing what they make or similar wise showcasing their skills.

The Public Relations Officer of IDYI , Mr. Ganiyu Ahmed Olaniyi, revealed that the event was a follow-through of the organisation’s stated commitment during its’ December, 2020 vocational, farming and entrepreneurship skills acquisition program organised by IDYI during which the beneficiaries among a total of .... number of youth were trained towards increasing entrepreneurial activity in the Division.
IDYI will continue to foster access to business start-up equipment and funding for more youth members of the Division, skilled during the December, 2020 program; and calls on well-meaning groups and individuals to make donations in view.
