IJEDE LCDA CHAIRMAN, MOTUNRAYO GBADEBO-ALOGBA HOSTS NTYTR IKORODU DIVISION



Ikorodu Division NotTooYoungToRun Directorate under the auspices of IDYI visited the Youngest Chairman in Lagos State, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on August 29, 2021. The team congratulated her for her  success having emerged the Chairman of Ijede LCDA.
The Directorate gave insights into how to promote the image of the LCDA beyond her jurisdiction by running an inclusive government that gives young people opportunities to excel.
The 31 years old Chairman reacted to all advice and opinions suggested by the youth leaders. She commenced her response with a thoughtful history describing how her mother called her to contest as Councilor during her days as an undergraduate in the University, she was ignorant about the position(Councilor) but her friends on campus were so happy that she got such an offer but unfortunately, she was not opportuned to get the Councilor ticket and she was encouraged by her friends for the bold step, God perfected her journey today she's the Boss of Ijede LCDA (meaning whenever you lose a chance in life, don't relent, try again because you don't know what tomorrow have for you)".
She highlighted some of her plans which features Youth And Women Empowerment, she was of the view that by the end of her tenure, 70% of her achievements will be on Human Capital Development i.e Youth and Women Empowerment for those within Ijede and without blocking any benefit intended to move to Ikorodu Division.

She further reiterated that her office doors and WhatsApp Direct message (DM) are open for Advice, suggestions, and correction of actions because she has gathered a lot of experiences in the last four years as the Vice-chairman of Ijede LCDA, she was of the view that at times the Chairman would have planned a program but due to some unforeseen contingencies, there will surely be a diversion of plans (meaning that Youth leaders should call her attention back to the proposed plans) she added that she will not promise what is not realistic. 
The Executive Director Comrade Samson Bisiriyu and Deputy Director NTYTR Directorate (Comr. Aliu Mubarak) appreciated the chairman for projecting Ijede LCDA and Ikorodu Division beyond expectations to the state Level and county at large. They made it known to the chairman that she's the New Youth symbol in Ikorodu Division, Comr. Samson advised the chairman to emulate her female contemporary (Ms Abisola, Commissioner for Agriculture, Lagos state) because she is so kind and mindful of youth development in the Division and she had never disappointed youth In Ikorodu since inception and more so, the commissioner see Ikorodu Indigenes as her Blood.

Comrade Samson advised the Executive chairman to ensure that power is  delegated to energetic Youth leaders in the LCDA in other to achieve an inclusive governance and THEMES agenda of Governor Babajide olushola Sanwo-Olu
by carrying different Youth Bodies along in her policy implementations for the Local Council.

E.D further reiterated that there are young administrative consultants that can aid the revenue service of the council because they are experts in the field.

Comr. Aliu Mubarak A. (Deputy Director NotTooYoungToRun) charged the Executive chairman to put the feet of Ijede Students union on their toes because they are too silent In terms of Ikorodu Constituency II Students activities since few years ago. .
The Executive Chairman reacted to the point by saying she invited the Students union during the campaign period some months ago but they were absent from the program, she promised to get them on Board to dialogue in one to know what is wrong and ensure she gets them involved in her Administration.

A FRAMED CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE WAS PRESENTED TO HER AFTER THE WHOLE DISCUSSION AND SHE APPRECIATED THE OPPORTUNITY GIVEN TO HER BY THE NOTTOOYOUNGTORUN DIRECTORATE.

Igbega Ikorodu's Samson Bisiriyu Awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree

The Convener of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Ultimate University of Science and Technology, Republic of Benin. Comrade Samson Bisiriyu who is also a former aspirant of Ikorodu consistuency 1 at the Lagos State State House of Assembly in the last 2023 general elections was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration during the Convocation ceremony of the prestigious University in the Republic of Benin. Dr. Samson Bisiriyu who had been one of the topmost voices clamoring for the development of Ikorodu was awarded the degree in Public Administration for his unrivaled urge for the growth of his community. In a joint congratulatory message by the executive members of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, the organization saluted it's Convener on this current achievement, noting that this didn't come as a surprise because Dr. Samson Bisiriyu is known as someone poised for excellence.
