IKORODU DIVISION SECURITY SUMMIT 2021



DEAR LAGOSIANS!


The Anti-Cultism Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ikorodu Branch in partnership with Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative and National Youth Council of Nigeria Ikorodu Division,  presents; IKORODU DIVISION SECURITY SUMMIT 2021.

Following the spate of killings arising from various shades of criminalities and cultism which in recent time has made Ikorodu Division a dreaded place to visit, reside or transact business, the need for us to chart a new course that would avert recurrence of all forms of nefarious activities within and outside Ikorodu Division cannot be over emphasized, hence, the need for Security Summit.

The activities of these cultists were really bad at a time in Ikorodu Division to a point that all socio-cultural and commercial activities were terribly affected and the residents grabbed with fear. Consequently, the security summit has become so important as it will make expatriates/businesses to be encouraged to find their way back to Ikorodu Division of Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole, by so doing, jobs will be available for our teeming youths population.

In view of the above, i have the directive of the CHAIRMAN of the Anti-Cultism Committee, MRS. HENRIETTA ADERO FADAHUNSI, to invite the general public as Stakeholders who are concerned about the adverse effect of cultism and insecurity in the society.

The program has been scheduled as follows:
Date: Thursday, 23rd of September, 2021
Time: 10:00 am prompt
Venue: Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Theme: Eradicating the Menace of Cultism and Other Social Vices: Causes, Effects, and Solutions

Chairman of Occasion/Lead Discussant: High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN (Odofin of Ikorodu)

Royal Father of the Day: HRM Oba Engr. Kabir Shotobi (The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom)

Over six notable discussants and Keynote Speakers from the legal profession, Academia, formal and informal security sectors will grace the occasion.

Igbega Ikorodu's Samson Bisiriyu Awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree

The Convener of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Ultimate University of Science and Technology, Republic of Benin. Comrade Samson Bisiriyu who is also a former aspirant of Ikorodu consistuency 1 at the Lagos State State House of Assembly in the last 2023 general elections was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration during the Convocation ceremony of the prestigious University in the Republic of Benin. Dr. Samson Bisiriyu who had been one of the topmost voices clamoring for the development of Ikorodu was awarded the degree in Public Administration for his unrivaled urge for the growth of his community. In a joint congratulatory message by the executive members of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, the organization saluted it's Convener on this current achievement, noting that this didn't come as a surprise because Dr. Samson Bisiriyu is known as someone poised for excellence.
