LASG Opens New Vocational Centre For General Public In Ikorodu



The officials of Etunrenren Vocational Training Centre and her volunteers took to the nook and cranny of Ikorodu metropolis on Tuesday, 8th December, 2021 to create awareness of the newly opened training centre. 


This is made available to IkoroduDivYouthVoice in a statement from the HOD of Vocational Agency for Mass Education, Mrs. Ayo Salu ,on behalf of the Director of the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education Mrs Oluwakemi Kalesanwo, who expressed joy over the completion of the state of the art training centre built to facilitate the ease of getting skilled in vocational skills. She praised the Lagos State Government, under the auspices of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folashade and the Special Adviser on Education; Agency for Mass Education for birthing this lofty idea as a way of fulfilling the promise of the governor to the good people of Lagos State. 


She appreciated the efforts of the directors, staff and trainers of the agency for keeping faith while the project was ongoing. Mrs. Ayo Salu enjoined the general public to take advantage of the opportunities this training centre would afford and called on youths, young adults and the elders in the community, who need to upscale or want to learn a new skill to register at the Etunrenren Vocational Training Centre. 


Also, while speaking to the media, Mrs. Olaide Oladunjoye, the Principal of the centre lauded the efforts of the government and principal officers for keeping to their words. She implored the students to take good care of the newly built facility and its accessories in maximising learning and efficiency. 


She also implored the general public to take swift action of registering their wards at the centre for vocational training in fashion designing, plumbing, bread making, catering, event planning among others. 


She noted that, the new centre will be the hub of administrative tasks come January 2022, while the old centre at Igbo Oluwo would serve other purposes as deemed fit. 



The awareness and sensitization that started from the centre at Etunrenren saw officials and volunteers move to strategic places such as the Oba of Ikorodu palace, Oju Ibode, Ladega Market, Ikorodu Garage, Mobil, BRT Terminus, and Benson.

Igbega Ikorodu's Samson Bisiriyu Awarded Honorary Doctorate Degree

The Convener of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Ultimate University of Science and Technology, Republic of Benin. Comrade Samson Bisiriyu who is also a former aspirant of Ikorodu consistuency 1 at the Lagos State State House of Assembly in the last 2023 general elections was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration during the Convocation ceremony of the prestigious University in the Republic of Benin. Dr. Samson Bisiriyu who had been one of the topmost voices clamoring for the development of Ikorodu was awarded the degree in Public Administration for his unrivaled urge for the growth of his community. In a joint congratulatory message by the executive members of Igbega Ikorodu Movement, the organization saluted it's Convener on this current achievement, noting that this didn't come as a surprise because Dr. Samson Bisiriyu is known as someone poised for excellence.
