Charges Bursary Advisory Board To Be Fair, Transparent_    The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has launched a registration portal for bursary application for indigent students of the Lagos East District who are studying in Lagos State-owned tertiary institutions. While inaugurating the Tokunbo Abiru Bursary Advisory Board on Friday, 30th April, 2021 at his senatorial office in Ikorodu, Senator Abiru urged the board members who are mostly lecturers in state-owned tertiary institutions to give primacy to academic excellence amongst other criteria in the selection process of suitable beneficiaries.  According to the Senator, the registration and screening of applications will be essentially driven online stressing the need to reduce human contact for greater efficiency in compliance with global best practice and in adherence with COVID-19 safety protocol....

Report On Kidnapping Incidents In Igbe, Ikorodu INTRODUCTION  This report aims to highlight the alarming increase in kidnapping incidents within the communities of Igbe, Ikorodu, particularly along the stretch from Alfa River to Igbe Kapo. Despite multiple reports and pleas for help, effective action to combat these kidnappings has yet to be taken.  OVERVIEW OF INCIDENTS  Over recent months, five successful kidnappings have occurred in the following areas: - Alfa River - Igbe Alagemo - Igbe Oloja - Igbe Ogunro - Igbe Kapo These incidents have not only resulted in the loss of three lives but have also instilled a pervasive fear among the residents. As modern democracy is defined as government of the people by the people for the people, choosing leaders by election or selection is imperative. In choosing those leaders, there is need for decorum and identification of ideas and philosophies so that there will be a team working for same purpose unlike what an all-comer system would offer. It is the aggregation of ideas and philosophies that gave birth to party politics. In the United Kingdom, after the civil war, political agitation centered on the role and status of the hereditary monarchy dividing the political class into *whigs* and *torries* (rather derogatory terms) according to the degree of influence and role they wanted for the monarch which itself had religious undertone as between the catholics and the anglicans.
