CFPNG Sensitizes The Public On Popular Participation And Accountability

Center for posterity.ng held an advocacy meeting with the people of Ikorodu community, Ikorodu, Lagos state to discuss people's participation in government. The total number of attendees were 35; 28 women and 7 men. It should be noted that the meeting was sponsored by Budgit Foundation.

This is the second phase of the meeting, the first phase was with the Market Men and Women leaders.
Project Director, Center for posterity.ng, Oduloye Funmilayo, orientated the people on the need to be involved and participate in governance, i.e; monitoring of government projects, participate in elections and ask for their leaders to be transparent and accountable.

The people complained about their inability to get the PVC registration done.
Mr. Anigilaje Yemi asked; if they noticed an abandoned project or a due project that is yet to be completed, who should they report to?

Miss Funmilayo answered him by saying they can report to the Center for posterity or walk into the project facilitator's or awardee's office and log a complaint.

They also promised to participate in governance by monitoring all government projects.

Miss Islamiat suggested that the PVC registration should be brought to each ward or street by street, as they do before now so that everyone will get their PVC.
