Ikorodu Division Youth Voice

The Lagos State Government has expressed readiness to reconfigure the Ikorodu Roundabout in its bid to unlock traffic gridlock, checkmate the activities of the roadside traders and other impediments to the free flow of traffic. The State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, made this known during a Stakeholders’ engagement with the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, His Royal Highness, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, Chiefs, prominent personalities and community leaders in Ikorodu, held at the Ayangburen's Palace. This gesture was executed during the group's annual executive retreat. The group's Executive Director, Comrade Samson Bisiriyu emphasized the need for meaningful engagements of the Youths in the division which would assist in not making them fall prey of all social vices ravaging the division and society at large. Several unpalatable experiences such as economic meltdown and recession as a result of the lockdown which shut down the economy of the nation.   One of the Ikorodu Division Youth from Rotary vocational centre in Igbogbo, Ikorodu has just been empowered with a tailoring machine from the stable of the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos State, Ms. Olusanya. The facilitation which came through the empowerment programme annually organized by Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) is expected to serve as a source of wealth for the beneficiary. The young and committed apprentice, Miss Lilieh Fortress Igelle who is just 16years old got the gift through the recommendation of the management of Rotary Vocational Training Centre, Igbogbo. This development is part of the goals of Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative in ensuring that all Youths in Ikorodu are self-reliant and are distracted from all social vices capable of pushing them into all various forms of crisis within the town.

  In furtherance to the agitation of inadvertent Exclusion of IKORODU DIVISION from the list of members of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission by the State Governor, HIS EXCELLENCY BABAJIDE OLUSOLA SANWO-OLU. Stakeholders across Ikorodu Division met with Hon. SOB AGUNBIADE on _Friday (6/11/2020)_ at his office in Lagos State House of Assembly to discuss how the mistake can be corrected.
