This year, the city of Ikorodu joined the club of cities with one million inhabitants or more, going by the UN population estimates and projections of major urban agglomerations. The Senator Abiru Innovation Lab (SAIL) has opened an application for STEM Education programme for Senior Secondary School Students (Cohort 2) across the 98 wards in the Lagos East Senatorial District.   Participants at the STEM programme will be taught physical computing as part of their STEM curriculum for 16 weeks. Classes hold on Saturdays between 11am- 2 Pm. That was the day darkness fell on the entire Lagos East Senatorial District and the entire Lagos State when we learnt about the painful departure of our esteemed leader and  Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic, Late Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo (Lagos East) on June 15, 2020. The Chairman, Senate committee on Industries, and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA on Friday supported business start-ups with grant during the graduating ceremony and Demo Day of Business 101 for Creatives and Artisans (Cohort 001) participants of the Senator Abiru Innovation Lab (SAIL). Out of 47 individuals that enrolled for the training, forty-one (41) budding and aspiring entrepreneurs successfully completed the 3-months intensive business training handled by the technical partner of SAIL, the Co-creation Hub (Cc-Hub). For seventeen (17) consecutive months, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru has been extending COVID-19 relief financial assistance to over 2500 vulnerable people in the Lagos East Senatorial District.
