Ikorodu Youth Memorandum was presented by Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (I.D.Y.I) & accepted by Senators Representating Lagos State the National Assembly. Key Agenda include; Youth Inclusiveness in Local Govt Administration & Adoption of Lagos State 37 Local Council Developmeny Areas(LCDAs) as recognized Local Governments in Part1 of the First Schedule of the 1999 Nigeria Constitution  Present at the event were; Comrade Samson Bisiriyu, MPA Executive, Director, IDYI and Ms Aizighode Obinyan, Esq  Representing Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative AGENDA.  The event is an ongoing conversation as regards the review of the 1999 Nigeria Constitution hosted by the Zonal body of the Lagos lawmakers in Lagos State. Below is the letter presented by the group to the lawmakers;

SOS: ATTEMPT BY SOME PARTY OFFICIALS TO WORK AGAINST THE INTEREST OF THE YOUTHS WITHIN THE APC IN IKORODU DIVISION We want to draw the attention of  the Apex APC party leaders to an attempt by some party officials to subvert the process of election and appointment  of candidates as enshrined in your party constitution  article 20 section i-iv. According to information available at our disposal, some party officials are threatening other party officials and members to unanimously accept their choice candidates in an attempt to impose the candidate on the party before the scheduled party primaries. We also understand that this attempted coup is taking place in areas within ikorodu division where youths are contesting in the primary elections. Aside the fact that such decision is illegal, it will disenfrachise many party members and also deny the youths the opportunity of testing their strength in party elections thereby painting your party in bad light We are us...

Charges Bursary Advisory Board To Be Fair, Transparent_    The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has launched a registration portal for bursary application for indigent students of the Lagos East District who are studying in Lagos State-owned tertiary institutions. While inaugurating the Tokunbo Abiru Bursary Advisory Board on Friday, 30th April, 2021 at his senatorial office in Ikorodu, Senator Abiru urged the board members who are mostly lecturers in state-owned tertiary institutions to give primacy to academic excellence amongst other criteria in the selection process of suitable beneficiaries.  According to the Senator, the registration and screening of applications will be essentially driven online stressing the need to reduce human contact for greater efficiency in compliance with global best practice and in adherence with COVID-19 safety protocol....

On the 16th day of April, 2021, Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) Led by Comrade Samson Bisiriyu Executive Director, successfully conducted the donation of business equipment to an additional four youth, namely Mrs. Abass Abisola (Igbogbo), Miss Jinadu Nimotalahi (Odogunyan), Miss Fatai Wasilat (Lucky Fibre), and Mrs. Fatimo Ewetoye (Oreyowa, Igbogbo) in their respective skill areas of Make-up, Hairstyling, and Fashion design (the latter two individuals). The afternoon outdoor event took place within the premise of the beautiful Constituency office of Honourable Babajimi Benson of the Federal House of Representatives at Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu Division. The Lagos State Government has expressed readiness to reconfigure the Ikorodu Roundabout in its bid to unlock traffic gridlock, checkmate the activities of the roadside traders and other impediments to the free flow of traffic.   One of the Ikorodu Division Youth from Rotary vocational centre in Igbogbo, Ikorodu has just been empowered with a tailoring machine from the stable of the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos State, Ms. Olusanya. The facilitation which came through the empowerment programme annually organized by Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) is expected to serve as a source of wealth for the beneficiary. The young and committed apprentice, Miss Lilieh Fortress Igelle who is just 16years old got the gift through the recommendation of the management of Rotary Vocational Training Centre, Igbogbo. This development is part of the goals of Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative in ensuring that all Youths in Ikorodu are self-reliant and are distracted from all social vices capable of pushing them into all various forms of crisis within the town.
