Comrade Samson Bisiriyu has just been reappointed as a Board Member of the Ikorodu Division Human Resources Development Board (IDHRDB). The appointment which was announced on Monday, January 30th, 2023 by the General Secretary, Sir Otunba Wole Odulate appears to be another medal in the shelve of Comrade Samson who is passionate about the development of Ikorodu division.  Some of the Board's terms of reference as stated in the appointment letter includes but not limited to; I. To develop policies and strategies to attract support for infrastructural developments in schools as well as advise on any deficiencies. II. To seek for relevant information and accordingly advise Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) in actualization of it's Vision and Mission for educational development in Ikorodu Division. The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Public Private Partnerships, today announced Messrs CCECC-CRCCIG CONSORTIUM as the preferred bidder for the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge project. Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Private Partnerships, Mr. Ope George, who disclosed this during a briefing at the PPP Office in Ikeja, said the Fourth Mainland Bridge (4MB) Project, which is a proposed Public Private Partnership (PPP) transport infrastructure development, will comprise of the construction and operation of a greenfield tolled road and bridge with a design speed of 120km/h, including the development of adjacent real estates.  He added that the Bridge, when completed, would become the second longest in Africa with three toll plazas, nine interchanges, a 4.5km Lagoon Bridge and an eco-friendly environment. Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Center For Posterity NG and Igbega Ikorodu held a sensitization programme on the need for electorates to get their PVCs in preparation against the elections. The programme which was tagged; "My PVC and 2023 Elections" had the Electoral Officer(E.O), Independent National Electoral Commission, ( INEC), Ikorodu local government, Mrs. Ayeleso Olutoyin and her deputy, Mr. Johnson In attendance. The Centre for Posterity NG has lamented the alarming number of uncollected Voter’s Cards at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Ikorodu. The group said that more than 10,000 PVCs were yet to be collected by their respective owners in Ikorodu, Lagos. The Convener of CPNg, Honourable Samson Bisiriyu made the disclosure at an event in Lagos recently. He said the sensitization and mobilization of Ikorodu residents to collect their voters’ card would be tagged; “Operation pickup your PVC". Doyin Ojora, wife of Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is dead. Doyin reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, 13 November, 2022 in Lagos.   Details of her death were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said 65,699 uncollected Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) were destroyed by hoodlums who attacked two of its offices in Ogun and Osun states. According to Chairman, INEC Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, 904 ballot boxes, 29 voting cubicles, 30 megaphones, 57 election bags, and eight electric power generators were also destroyed by the unscrupulous elements. The attacks occurred separately at the commission’s offices in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State and the Ede South Local Government Area Of Osun State. Okoye, in a statement, said both incidents occurred in the early hours of Thursday, noting that while the entire building of its Abeokuta office was set ablaze, a portion of its Ede office was burnt.
