In what appears as a committed and consistent zeal in ensuring that all Youths in Ikorodu division of Lagos state are well equipped and gainfully engaged, the Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos State, Ms. Abisola Olusanya has empowered 33 Ikorodu youths with some start-up instruments ranging from Make-up kits, Hairdressing equipments, Tailoring instruments. The Lagos State Government is set to commence demolition of structures along the Right of Way of Ikorodu roundabout on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th September, 2021, in preparation for the junction improvement traffic diversion plan slated for midnight of Friday, 17th September, 2021. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, explained that the demolition will take place in phases, noting that the first phase will cover CAC Road junction to Ayangburen Road in the morning, while the second phase will cover AP Filling Station inwards Sabo in the afternoon on Monday. Oladeinde stated that on the second day, the demolition exercise will be carried out at the Sabo Police Station, Central Mosque, Conoil and Ayangburen Road from morning till afternoon. Ikorodu Division NotTooYoungToRun Directorate under the auspices of IDYI visited the Youngest Chairman in Lagos State, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on August 29, 2021. The team congratulated her for her  success having emerged the Chairman of Ijede LCDA. The Directorate gave insights into how to promote the image of the LCDA beyond her jurisdiction by running an inclusive government that gives young people opportunities to excel. The 31 years old Chairman reacted to all advice and opinions suggested by the youth leaders.             The executive members and a member of Board Of Trustee of the Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (IDYI) paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, a member of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission representing Ikorodu division at his office in Ikeja.     Hon. Abiodun expressed his delight towards the remarkable achievements of the organization in ensuring youth development and also making sure that the voice of the youths in Ikorodu division is heard loud and clear. The Chairman of the Ikorodu - Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo, has congratulated Master Micheal Ogbonna, a student of the Ikorodu Senior Grammar School, who emerged the third place winner in the just concluded U-15 Scrabble tournament. The tournament was organised by the Lagos State Scrabble and Monopoly Association and was held at the Press Centre of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. I congratulate Master Micheal Ogbonna for the feat achieved at the state competition where he emerged as the third best in the state. I am sure that he can do better if engaged in adequate training and competitions. Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today commissioned 102 brand new Locally assembled compactor trucks and 100 Double Dino Bins for the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) at the Sports Ground, Lagos House, Ikeja.  The 102-brand new waste collection vehicles comprising 30(nos) of 12 Cubic meter Compactor Trucks, 60(nos) of 24 cubic meter compactor trucks and 12(nos) Hook Loaders, and 100 double dino bins. All the trucks are locally assembled in Lagos, Nigeria here and drivers and their assistants have been trained to troubleshoot and fix simple issues that might arise as they move around the State. Each vehicle also has trackers for effective monitoring.  The  average compactor truck can carry 10 tons of waste (most usually carry less), this implies that we need to make more than 1,300 compactor trips daily to provide an effective waste collection service.  This commissioning is encapsulated in the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of ...

The food sufficiency programme of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been taken a notch higher.
